Black Kites

So yeah -

it's been ages since i buzzed the fuzz with some Black Kite News -

but -

here we go again -

First off, we're shooting a Video for our first "single" - Paper Heart - next week here in Los Angeles with Michael Grodner. Should be fun and cool and playing on a video viewing screen near you in the near future -

and secondly, we're playing our very first San Francisco show at the end of March -

March 21st at the Cafe Du Nord with the Prids and Loquat. Should be a blast - amazing bands and cool people.

i'll probably post again about this closer to the date - so this is just a heads up.

so, there's a brand new free download digital album out now on the Filthy Little Angels label/website.

18 bands from right now all covering songs from 1987. we, as you might have already guessed, have "Lucretia, My Reflection" on the comp. (20 years - i'm sorry, but that's crazy!)

so, we play tonight with some great bands at the viper room for indie 103.1, we did a great photo shoot yesterday, and hopefully very soon we'll have our brand new EP out and about.

we stumbled across this while digging for any miscellaneous write-ups floating around the interwebby thing, and thought it was kinda cute.

Alright - message from Marcel...

"so, it's a small space, and a cool space...
it's Pehrspace.

and the black kites are playing there this coming saturday (that would be July 21st).

we'll be opening up - for the Switch & the Transmissions - so we're probably hitting the stage early (9pmish?) in the evening.

I'm looking forward to this show - it's like our last step to cement this band's foundation. we've practiced, we've recorded, we've gotten drunk together, we've done the photoshoot thing, we've even had official band meetings.

we've got buttons and t-shirts and EP's to sell.

but the four of us have never ever played live together. so here we go - into the light.

The last time i played live was october 14th, 2005... it was at the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle. a good night to end a good string of shows with my last band... and now... i begin again.

so happy about that."
